Shopify settings
Connect your Shopify store, choose how and when Nifelo imports, and configure notifications for this data source.
What is this page for?
On the Settings page, you manage the connection between a Shopify store and a data source in Nifelo. Here you specify which store belongs to the data source, which language Nifelo uses, and when new data may be imported.
Connecting or saving a data source does not change products in Shopify. Products are only retrieved into Nifelo when you run an import. Writing data back to Shopify only happens through a separate sales channel.
General information
Data source name
Give the data source a clear, recognizable name, such as Shopify Netherlands or Shopify main store. This name is only visible in Nifelo and does not change the name of your Shopify store.
Data source type
For a direct Shopify connection, Nifelo determines the source type automatically. You do not need to select a file format or a technical Shopify adapter yourself.
Target language
The target language determines the project language in which Nifelo processes data from this data source. Choose the language that matches the content of your Shopify store and the purpose of the project.
The target language does not translate product texts automatically. Translation and AI enrichment are configured separately.
Connect Shopify
Under Data source, open the Webshop connection tab and select Shopify.
Shopify store
Enter the permanent Shopify store domain. It ends in .myshopify.com.
Example: your-store.myshopify.com
Do not use only the public website address of your store, such as www.your-store.com. The permanent .myshopify.com domain remains unchanged if you change the public domain later.
Connect with Shopify
Click Connect with Shopify. You will be redirected to Shopify to grant Nifelo permission for the connection.
- You do not need to paste API keys or passwords into Nifelo.
- Check in Shopify that you are signed in to the correct store.
- Accept the requested permissions and then return to Nifelo.
If the connection already exists, the button is called Reconnect. Use this option when the permission has expired, required access rights are missing, or the connection no longer works.
Test connection
After connecting, click Test connection. Nifelo then checks whether the saved Shopify connection can be used.
A connection test does not import products and does not write anything back to Shopify.
Save settings
Click Save settings after the connection, name, and target language are correct.
Saving stores the configuration of the data source. It does not automatically start a product import. Start the first import afterward using the data source's import function.
For a direct connection, Shopify uses automatic cursor pagination. Nifelo uses this to retrieve all available Shopify pages. You do not need to configure a page number or maximum number of pages.
Automatic imports
Under Schedule, you determine how often Nifelo imports new or changed Shopify data.
- Manual: an import starts only when you run it yourself.
- Every number of hours: Nifelo imports at the selected interval.
- Daily: Nifelo imports once a day at the selected hour.
The available frequencies depend on your subscription. A disabled option indicates that another subscription is required.
For a new Shopify connection, start with a manual import. Check the result before activating an automatic schedule.
Notifications
Under Notifications, you can enter an email address for messages about imports from this data source.
- On error: send a notification when a scheduled import fails.
- On success: send a notification when an import is completed.
Check the email address carefully. This setting is separate from sales-channel notifications.
Select a different source or store
Be careful when changing the source type, connection, or linked store. If the data source already contains products and processing results, Nifelo may ask you to confirm the removal of existing derived source data.
Removing existing source data cannot be undone. Only change the linked Shopify store when you intentionally want to start again with a different source.
The Clear source data button is only intended to deliberately empty this data source. It removes the products and derived processing data from this data source in Nifelo. It does not delete products from Shopify.
