Smart Fields
Learn how Nifelo centrally maps Shopify product and variant data to Smart Fields and how to verify that mapping.
What are Shopify Smart Fields?
Nifelo centrally maps Shopify product and variant data to internal Smart Fields. Product-level data includes items such as title, description, vendor, product type, tags and images. Variants supply fields such as SKU, barcode, price, compare-at price, inventory and option values including size or color. This gives imports, validation, enrichment and exports one stable product structure.
Centrally managed mapping
The core Shopify mapping is read-only and maintained by Nifelo. Free-form metafields or unknown options may appear as candidates, but they do not automatically become supported Smart Fields. Do not depend on them for critical rules or exports until they have been reviewed.
Verify the mapping
Run a Shopify import first. Then compare several products and variants with Shopify: title and description, Product ID and Variant ID, SKU, barcode, price, inventory, vendor, product type, tags, images and option values. One example is not enough to assess a complete catalog.
Correct structural source problems in Shopify whenever possible and import again. Additional rules can standardize presentation, but should not hide an incorrect source setup. Mapping itself never writes changes back to Shopify.
